Jacques Offenbach
This acclaimed operette composer and inventor of the opéra bouffe loved Etretat
so much that after composing “Orpheus in the Underworld”, he decided to build his “Villa Orphée” just beneath the Donjon.
He regularly came to stay in his house up to his death in 1880; this room is a tribute to Offenbach as well as the annual Offenbach Music Festival which takes place in Etretat every summer. Masculine and elegant, this room is quite spacious.
